PostSubject: Mining, Events and building a playerbase   Fri Jun 22, 2007 3:42 pm

Hey all, i've noticed that 1 "mining process" (the time you need to mine 1 ore) is around 5500 miliseconds. This is pretty slow as you'll need approximately 1 hour to mine 200 iron ingots, you do the math-Wink
So you guys might be interested in decreasing the "mining delay".

ANother suggestion is to add more kind of ores. On old novus you had actually 25 ores considering: snow ores (=100% white), havoc (brown), blood rock (dark brown), oceanic (light blue) and many more.

The anti-autoharvesting is pretty slow as ive only seen 3 elements spawning in about 6 hours of mining.

---------

NOw the event part
I think you guys should host an event during different times of the day, because not all the playerbase will be from canada.
IVe only seen paint ball so fair as there are many more events like capture the flag, bomberman, the 2 teams pvp based event, and even a Horse run event throughout the map. I've got some abilities to script with Runuo or old sphere as a developper, if you dont know how to make them.

---
To get more players it is important that people vote in top 200. You might be able to ad a pop up which refers people the voting link, which if they press they get 1k gold or something.
----
Hope you guys will be able to make some changes
Regars,
paul

Hi Paul, I think the delay is ok, if its not other players have to post to agree with you and then I'll consider a delay decrease.

For the ores, when we built the ore system, we decided to build a clear and simple ores system. Yes I agree with you we don't have a lot of ores but its the way we decided to do it. We wanna make all skills usefull, you can do dragon scales armors with tailorin, now you can craft pickaxe that give mining bonus with profession gem and tinkering. We will add a logs system and make different kind of bows craftable using the bowcraft skill. Fishing is a custom skill that allow you to fish different kind of fishs.

Im gonna take a look at the lumber monsters, maybe a adjustment is require here. Thx

For the Events, all our staff is from Canada, Quebec GMT-5. I work during the night, when i go home at 7ham there are not enought ppl to host an Event. We do our best I know you play during the night (in Quebec). I dont know any thrustable person to do events at this time for the moment.

Giving money to players for voting is illegal on the top 200 and we can get banned if we do it...

Thx for your post, I hope other players will give their advice about the mining delay and everything u said.

About the mininig only thing ive really had a problem with is the low success rate, i know my skill is only 31 which means i shouldnt succed alot but.. with iron ore sometimes takes close to 30-40 seconds before i see a peice of iron ore.

umm the timing i think is ok, but yeah ive just had trouble with success rate maybe improve the success rate of iron a bit so people just starting of in mining have easier time getting mining up at the start and have some ore to show for it Very Happy
